Alec9922, I just want to say YOU GO GIRL!! I don't know you but I am proud of you for standing up to the jerks at Capital One and Cory. That a girl stand up for yours. I will try and break it down for the stupid or morons of the world, as I totally understand your point of view. What happened was Alec9922 sent her money $1000 payment in to Capital One and the payment processor who opened the envelope her payment was in made a typo and typed $100 INSTEAD OF $1000 actual payment. This typo by a busy payment processor has cost her time, money, frustration, headache, interest charges and fees. I don't know about you but my money is important to me, I don't have it to give away because I work for mine. Capital One is already collecting an interest on what she owes from the beginning of problem, now she is paying extra interest because the payment processor made a mistake. By the way Alec9922 Don't be so made because they are treating you as if you are NOT telling the truth. The fact is that they probably hear a lot of stories and are rather numb to it all. So they rather think that you made the mistake rather than the payment processor. Keep copies of your proof for yourself, file a www.bbb.org complaint and send a copy of your proof and send Capital One payment center and correspondence mailing address, both using Return Receipt Requested, be sure to complete the return address info on the other side of the green card, so the post office will send you back the exact person and date Capital One received the notification of them incorrectly applying your payment. Also file a complaint online with the Attorney General of their state that will help you a lot. Keep in mind that the more firepower you have behind you the better, because they have already called you a liar now they are going to send you thru the ringer. If you follow some of the suggestions I have made you will be better, don't let them rip you off. You can also file a complaint on scam.com andconsumeraffairs.com the more people know how they treated you the better. Just tell your story and defend yourself also keep your own copies of all your proof. Stand your ground.

First of all-- calling the customer a liar when you have made the mistake is enough to stop doing business with any company--- Second of all-- its not worded incorrectly-- if you sent a check for $1000 dollars and got credit for $100 its obviously a problem. If that check is, instead, a money order, its a much more complicated situation. Yes, i have the receipt and yes i will eventually get my money but if you think having to spend your time and money dealing with a mistake that is not yours while being treated like crap is "no big deal"--- your nuts. You either work for them or are just a moron. There is a large balance collecting interest that shouldnt be there. Also, I am unable to use the card as i normally would, due to that balance. Let me put it in simpler terms for you since you seen to have so much trouble understanding. A credit card company owes me a bunch of money. This credit card company refuses to admit their mistake forcing me to lose even more money and time trying to rectify the situation. Meanwhile, ive been called a liar and told its "not their responsibility" to fix it. How is that not a problem. We arent all rich and can be missing hundreds of dollars with no impact. You have to be a plant-- why hang around this forum and defend the company....

This post is kind of strange. Maybe his wording is off. "...not given me credit for the whole amount". None of the first part makes any sense. Either they received the money order OR they didn't. That's easy enough to prove by going back to western union and finding out when the MO was cashed and by whom. IF it was cashed by capone, they have to give you credit FOR THE FULL AMOUNT on the day it was cashed/deposited by their bank and credited to your account on that day. It may take a few bucks and a bit of a hassle, but what's the big deal? I've had an account with capone for 13.5 years and ONE time I didn't receive a bill and dummy me forgot about it that month and the next month the hit me with a $29 late fee plus interest. I called 'em up and told 'em I was sorry I hadn't paid 'em but I hadn't receive a bill for last month and could they do anything about the late fee. They reviewed my history and said they'd drop the late fee, no problem. I've been satisfied with capone for 13.5 years. Racked up a pot load of miles. Pay them off every month with no interest. The way "credit cards" are suppose to be used.
