CapitalOne Charged membership fee on card that was not activated Dallas Texas
I applied for a CapitalOne Credit Card. When I received the card in the mail, I was informed of my credit limit ($300.00). I called CapitalOne & told them not to activate this card because of the low limit. About 1 month later I get a bill for $45.00 (membership fee). I again called CapitalOne & told them This card was never activated. CaoptalOne Operator (Alex op#DXX082) informed me the card does not have to be activated to incur this membership fee, And if I now choose to close this (inactive) account it will have negative effects on my credit history. I realize the dollar ammounts are small, but what got me was the (there is nothing you can do about this) attitude. I would appreciate any assistance/information you could provide.
