I went to Jim for a car June 2, 2008. Well I was in desperate need of a car, after mine had finally broke down ( after 6 years ) I went in and talked to Jim and told him what had happend with my car, and that I had 3 children and needed a family car, that would be safe for my children to ride in.

Then I tell him I only have $500 to put down on a vehicle. He says " I am an honest man and I will work with you" So he sends me out on the lot to find a car. I pick out a 2000 Nissan Altima. Nothing appeared to be wrong with the car.

And for the moment it sounded good. So I go in there and the sticker price on the the car is $4995. Well my friend who brought me there had to leave, my witness to the original price. So now I am a mother sitting in his office with a screaming 14 month old.

He thought he could pull something over on me. Being that I had no ride out of there. He some how raised the price of the car to $9450. I am like....NO WAY. But like I said I had no ride home and had a screaming kid with me.

So I am like ok, thinking to my self that this man is doing something illegal, but what?. Well I go to pick my two older children from my moms house, and a bug hits the window, so I go to use the wipers....HAHA They don't work! I am thinking, ok small fix, no problem.

So my dad goes to pop the hood and check the fluids for me, the hood doesn't pop..its rusted shut! Absolutly ticked off, I call him and he says no problem bring it to me and I will fix it. So I go to get my husband, not wanting to go up there alone.

Well Jim hits the hood of the car and it pops open. Not a good sign! I look under the hood and there is nothing but rust. We get home and the car is on car facts as a flood vehicle from hurricane Katrina. Now the CV joints are going out and the rear end.

Jim says to bring him the car and let his mechanic fix it. I had other plans, my mechanic looked at and said LEMON!! So make arrangments to get another vehicle, my husband calls him and lets him know we are going to bring him back the vehicle, and that it falls under the 30 day lemon law.

Not wanting to talk to my husband, he hangs up and calls my phone. I have a bit of a temper, I let him have it. Telling him what a crook he is, and that he makes his living by praying on young women and single mothers. And how he takes advantage of ppl. Not that this affects the man! He is use to hearing it. I wonder why.

So the day before my payment is due, I drive the car back to him. Made sure I had my paper work with me and anything else that belongs to me out of the car. He is not there, so I leave the keys with his employee. Well he is not surprised I am there with the keys.

Well here is an answer to help some of you out there. He is raising the price And he is charging 100% interest, also illegal! Kind of like a Loan Shark! My sister is in criminal law, and looked at the paper work, from the car her husband bought there. She figured it out.

By the way the car he got there, broke down 3 weeks later... Look under the hood of the car and these cars are fixed to fall apart....I will be seeing Jim is court. He said to me, and I will not forget. " I would never put a mother and a child in a vehicle that I thought would be dangerous" My car could have killed me and my children...After my mechanic looked at it. He said that no one should be driving this car.

This man put mine and my childrens lives in danger, with out a second thought! Please save your self from being taken by this man. He only got $500 from me. I would like to get it back....We will have to see this man in court. I would like to see him behind bars. So save your self the trouble and do not go to this man!!!

I read your problem and can't believe it. Also the rat person don't know what they are saying apparently as your sister is in criminal law. also here is a search on Arkansas Lemon Laws. http://www.altavista.com/web/results?itag=ody&q=Lemon+Law+Arkansas+Used+vehicles&kgs=1&kls=0 Hope it works out for you, this person is still in business.

You mean to say that you bought a used car and didn't even think to look under the hood! Even if a person doesn't know anything about cars, I would at least think you could look under the hood for leaks. I'm sorry but you were asking for it. By the way, there is no lemon law in Arkansas for used cars, it only applies to new vehicles.
