Carter County Dodge CAUGHT IN THE ACT OF TRYING TO SCREW..... Ardmore Oklahoma
We have a 2005 Dodge 2500 ttruck that we bought new from Carter County Dodge and my husband was driving and hit something in the road and cause a hole in the front differential of his truck. This being on a Sunday we had it towed to Carter County Dodge to be repaired the following week. Monday they called saying that it needed a whole new front diff. plus axels and all. They included that they found the part and there was only 1 in the U.S. (Michigan) & to order it orwe would be without a truck for 2 months. We said that we needed to wait and have the insurance look at it first.
I didn't feel comfortable about all this crap so I told my husband to go have the truck towed to another body shop. The guy went to get the truck and a service man came outside and said this truck isn't going anywhere until I have $3,600.00 for the part that we ordered. My husband called down there and again they told him the same. So my husband and 2 officers went to get his truck. The police said if you do not give his truck back then you will be arrested for vehicle theft. The man continued to refuse. He cursed at everyone and so they had to call 2 more police officers to the scene. Finally he agreed to give the truck back as long as we pay $48.00 for having a guy look up underneath the truck to see if there was a hole. We paid just to get out of there.
We towed the truck to another shop and they informed us that it wasn't as bad as they said it was and found the parts locally and fixed it in 4 days (including 1 day for a holiday) They fixed it for $2,600.00. So of course Carter County Dodge didn't want to give it back because the were going to take our insurance company for a whole lot of money...but they were caught!!
I wouldn't use them for one thing and I sure wouldn't buy another vehicle from them either. The police said that they have been down there several times because they are always doing crap like this. They are out to screw their customers so BEWARE!
So just think $3,600.00 for the part, no telling what they would have charged for labor, and then they said shipping was $500.00 for this "special" part. I could understand if we had a Porshe or some unique car but this was a Dodge Truck that there are millions of in the world.
They are crooks so I hope you learn from our Mistake.....Have No Dealing With These People....Even their own employees say they do this all the time and wanted "Tom" the service manager arrested but they just have to have a job that's why they work there. So "Tom" guess what you tried but your screw didn't fit us!!! WATCH OUT!

i thought i would say i filled a rip off report on this company also..they screwed me out of buying a durango and found out that they are not authorized to do any loans through capital one auto financing.......DO NOT GO BACK TO THIS CAR DEALERSHIP THEY ARE A SCREW JOB

I know all the people that work at this dealership and feel that you are not telling the whole side of the story. I think that this site should be for stories that have been checked out and proven to be true. The Tom that you mention is a honest and true man. How many times has iddle gossip and half truths ruined a business or person. I think that if anyone called the Ardmore Police Department they would find that this is a false story. When some people tell stories they like to slant them one way or the other, depending on how upset they get. Please anyone who would like to research the story call the dealership and listen to the REST of the Story. Like Paul Harvey there is aways more. By the way if this was a true story I am sure that Karma would have taken care of it by now.
