The management from the Corpus Christi Trade Center purposely has not been running the AC units in half of the facility for many months. They are acting as slum lords, thus causing a very hot environment putting the safety of the customers and employees in danger. A relative of mine that is employed there had to be rushed to the hospital because of a heat injury that he suffered while working there. When I asked the managers, Velma and Victor about the details of why the AC was off and when it would be back on, they claimed in a very rude manner that the parts were on order in San Antonio and it will be fixed on Monday, June 24, 2024. When I talked to some of the vendors, that claimed that the AC units have been off sine last year and that they have been threatened with dismissal if they complained.
Customers have the option of not going to the trade center but I think that something should be done to protect the hundreds of owners and employees who work hard at the Trade Center to support their families. Either they could shut down their businesses or bear with the extreme tempatures. They display signs all over the facility stating that the city of Corpus Christi advised them that AC is a luxury and not a requirement.
