That is what I ended up having to do in order to get the erroneous information that they submitted to the credit reporting agencies deleted. The only response you will get from these vultures is a "fraud packet", where they want a copy of your driver's license, utility bills, bank information and a police report for identity theft. I find the latter comical, as they are the thieves and hustlers. It does no good to dispute information with the credit bureaus, as they keep "verifying" the alleged debt. In my case, I have never had a Sprint PCS account (my husband did before we were married), but I supposedly had one in 1997-98 (I had PacBell, which became Airtouch then Cingular from 1992-2001). So how they were able to "verify" what never existed is beyond me. I actually decided to get my attorney involved when they put multiple entries on my account. He basically told them that if they did not prove the debt was valid and remove all information from my credit report, we would be filing suit. It was FINALLY removed. You might explore attorneys who do class-action suits..many will work pro bono.
