my husband and I had just moved to texas and we were tired of living in a hotel, so we found a realestate agent to help us find a house. of all the house's he showed us my husband and I counldnt agree on any of them. so the real estate agent sugested that we rent. so we said ok. Alex takes us to a place where he used to work it was century 21 high point properties.
Steve one of the owners said that we could get into this one place real quick, so alex took us to the house it was 8pm at night their where no lights and all we had was our cell phones for light. but the place was big and it looked nice from what we could see.
alex took us back to century 21 so we could rent it, I asked if we could view the house in day time and both alex and steve said if their is anything wrong with the place we could just write it down on your move in check list and if their were damages it wouldnt be deducted from our deposit. fair enough we said.
we signed the lease give our deposit, first months rent and pet deposit. we get the keys and my husband goes off to work. I open the door and the place was a mess. the carpet was compleatly stained up, stains all over the wall,s half the light bulbs were burnt out. their was a grill in our back yard and some stuff in the garage and the places was not even cleaned, the tubs, sinks, stove, cubards where disgusting.
I called Paula and steve and said what is going on, they said just write it in on your move in check list and you will be fine. so I did that and took the copy to them and made a copy for our records.
well we moved out last month and moved to was and they are trying to charge us for all the damages that were their when we moved in. I called them and said that i had my move in check list which they had a copy and she said we never got one of those from you.
I have checked with past neighbors who have rented from them and they said that they did the same to them.
so please what ever you do, do not rent from century 21 high point properties.
