CIC CREDIT MONITOR SVC ripoff internet
A charge for $79.95 appeared on my credit card account for a company, CIC Credit Monitor Svc. When I contacted their company they said that if I got one of their "free" credit reports and didn't cancel within 30 days, I'd be automatically charged for an annual fee of $79.95.
They readily gave me a refund of $67.95 on my card when I called them. The lesson here is that if you don't check you credit card statements every 7 days or so, it may be too late to avoid an argument with retail sharks like this company.
This smacks of collusion with the credit bureaus, because you can't actually get "free" credit reports without tangling with these for-profit agencies, and I for one don't see my credit card statements within 30 days even if I DID know I'd have to cancel within 30 days.
Bottom line: I am aggravated to death again my a credit card scam and feeling victimizsed (AGAIN).
