It's the salesmans fault for lying about the warranty coverage (which I don't doubt happened). But ultimately it's the OP's fault for not bothering to read what he was paying $300 for. I guarantee you, if I'm paying $300 for a piece of paper, you can be sure I'm going to take the time to read it.

Why didn't you read the agreement before you bought the warranty? This is your fault, not the salesman. Few if any extended warranties cover accidental damage.

Circuit City has been out of business for a few months now. What's the point in posting about them ?? And, yes, the salesman lied to you.
