Filed two claims with them. Ac was not cooling and water heater was not heating. Had the policy for 9 months, they addressed the calls right away and gave us names for contractors. We pay the call service of 45 dollars to the have the water heater ck and was told it needed a new thermostat. Contractor tried for 3 days to get a hold of Colonial and never got a reply, we finally pd for the part ourselves and submitted the claim for reimbursement but that was 2 months ago and have not heard from them yet. For the AC they required that we showed proof for services on the unit which we did. They sent out a service guy to ck the unit and we were told by the repair man the problem was the coil. It was leaking and that it is a common problem for a unit that's 6 yrs old. Lonestar Air called and talked to the claims department to explain what the problem was. Colonial never return his call. We called Colonial every day for 10 days and was told by their operators that the phone system was not working and she could only take messages... We also paid for the repair ourselves in the amount of $1,500. OMG this is when I knew Colonial was nothing but a scam. They do not pay any of their claims, it does not matter which policy you have. We bought the most expensive policy 485 per year. Why does this company still exists?? They should not be operating and there has to be some legal action against them. If anyone can help or have information on how to deal with them please share. There needs to be a class action lawsuit against Colonial Home Warranty. They should not be able to continue ripping off people daily.
