But you shouldn't have to ask for a copy of the work order from the installer he should of had you sign one and then gave you a copy of it. And yes Comcast does bill one month in advance just like the power company and the phone company. If you signed an agreement that stated you would receive a promotional rate then that is all you will have to pay for that period of time , plus if you did a self install for the internet then there should not be any installation charge for that on your bill at all. Sounds like you do need to actually go into the local office and speak with someone and they should be able to get you all of your credits and your promotional rate.

Based on my own experience, I suggest that you demand a "work order" when you have cable installed that shows your charges from Comcast for the first month. When they overbill you (as they probably will if you received a promotion), take your work order in to the Comcast Center nearest you. Be polite and get them to make the proper adjustments to get the bill back to what was agreed upon. Just stress that you agreed to pay this amount and have that in writing. Don't pay right at the Comcast center because it takes a few days for the credits to process, and you don't want to pay until the bill is right. Call them up a few days later, let them adjust the bill as necessary, and then pay what you agreed to pay for the first month on the work order. By this time you will probably need to pay with a credit card over the phone so that payment is not late.
