I signed up for a 25 Mbps internet only plan for $24.99 per month in July 2015. In August, I received a call offering a promotion for faster Internet and basic cable TV for $39.99. I specifically asked in the basic cable included AMC and was told yes. I decided that $15 more per month was reasonable for cable TV so agreed to the new plan. Comcast mailed me the cable equipment which my son set up on 8/23/15. I immediately found that AMC was not included. I called Comcast and was informed that the package was for Limited Basic, which is just local channels. I explained that I did not want a limited basic package and that I got more channels with my digital antenae. I asked to be put back to my previous $24.99 package. Comcast offered me 3Mbps for $19.99 or 75 Mbps for $49.99, and would not allow me to go back to the $24.99 package, because it was for new customers only. They said since I had "upgraded" I could not go back. I spoke to the representative, the supervisor, and the "loyalty department" and explained each time that the representative had lied to me about the channels in the package and I wanted to go back to the package I had. They would not do it. So I cancelled and am going to another carrier.
This is a clear Bait & Switch to get me off the low cost plan which was guaranteed for 12 months.
