Compass Bank Ripoff $1000 paycheck deposit cashed but not applied Middleburg Florida
11-22
Deposited a paycheck a little over $1000 through the ATM.
Withdrew $300 same time...
11-25
Withdrawl $300 shown, deposit not showing.
11-26
Physically went into branch and spoke with account representative. I had a copy of the cancelled - cashed paycheck from my employer, the representative found the deposit paperwork and "did not understand why deposit was not credited", May have been that there was no pre-printed deposit slip enclosed, but assured me that it would be credited this day .
11-27
Saturday, after seeing no deposit from Friday, I called, and was told the same "I have no idea why it didn't post...". I was given the promise that it would be looked into and I would get a call Monday morning.
11-29
Monday, no call, so I called. AGAIN... "I have no idea why, blah blah blah... it will be posted by midnight tonight". I called the corporate office and obtained the number and names I should speak to if this deposit does not happen.
11-30
YOU GUESSED IT, no deposit showing. I will leave an update as to what happens today when I call their corporate office at 8am.
After reading numerous compaints on this and other sites regarding this bank chain, I can only believe that they are attempting to create a situation where my account would fall under NSF fees, whereas it has never, and will never be allowed by me to be low enough to do so. I deposited half of another check: $500, since that 'lost' deposit. It shows on online banking and the ATM, but alas! it is not part of the 'available funds'. It has been 5 business days from the date of deposit.
Why are they holding funds that have cleared the other bank?
Usually, with my former banking institutions, the bank will hold funds if the account is less than the check amount. Not bragging, but I have more than both checks combined.
Paranoia? Maybe, but I still think they are up to something.
