Cross Country Moving & Storage Cross Country Moving & Storage (Kensington, MD) - Beware of the scam Kensington, Maryland
We unfortunately contracted Cross Country Moving & Storage of Kensington, Maryland to perform a local move from Laurel to Elkridge in December 2010. The move was about 15 miles but we chose to hire a company because we had more furniture than we could move on our own. Cross Country Moving & Storage is the typical bait and switch moving company that provides a quote and then completely screws you over by moving as slowly as possible and using and charging ridiculous amounts for packing materials. The quote that was provided to us was for $900 and 7 hours using 4 men. The final bill came in at $2400 (including almost $1,000 for packing materials) and 11 hours. And to make matters worse there was nothing I could do as they refused to empty the truck until I paid them. In fact 3 of the men locked themselves in the truck as I argued with the lead mover for 45 minutes.
Please do not use Cross Country Moving & Storage as I would hate for this company to scam another customer.
