Ms. Kelly contacted our company to repair a roof in Renton. We told her that we did not give estimates for repairs and discussed our hourly charges with her at that time and she agreed to our terms. We sent a repairman who did in fact make a temporary repair to her roof as was agreed upon. When we mailed the invoice, she called and said she requested an estimate not a repair. That was not the case. Her complaint does not state that she was a partner in a roofing company. Why would she call us for an estimate? We think they had a leak they could not find and called us to solve their problem. She also does not state that we went to small claims court and Crow Roofing prevailed. Crow Roofing has been in business since 1946. We tell our repair customers when they call in that our repairs are not guaranteed - if we didn't put the roof on, we cannot accept that liability. In addition, the roof may be in very poor condition and in need of a new roof. We are there to try to solve their immediate problem and stop their roof leak. We have been doing this for a very long time for many customers. We are sorry Ms. Kelly feels we are at fault when, in fact, it has been proven in court we were not. Carolyn Vares, President

To Kimberly: My husband works for Crow Roofing; however, he was not the roofer who came to your house to inspect/fix your leaking metal roof. I would just like to say that I do not believe that you were taken advantage of because you have cancer. If you had a leaking roof wouldn't you want a temporary fix (i.e. mastic) so that it prevents water from entering into your house causing more extensive damage? I think that they were doing you a favor by stopping the water leak by applying mastic on your metal roof, which is standard procedure for small holes. So please don't use the sorry excuse of..."I have cancer....watch out...another cancer patient may be taken advantage of by this company." Crow Roofing has been in business for over 50 years and has a great reputation. They also have to deal with many customers who want work done, get work done, then don't pay for work done. If you were owed money for work you performed wouldn't you want to get paid? I think you owe Crow Roofing an apology for accusing them of taking advantage of you because you have cancer. Did the company or the roofer who went out even know? I think you owe the employee an apology as well. Shame on you.
