I saw this extremely cheap protools set on ebay and thought wow I want that. But I decided that it was to good to be true and investigated it. Firstly the seller was supposed to be German, funny so am I. But guess what he did not answer my messages when I wrote them in German anyway here is what this guy wrote to me. I did not buy the item and was also advised by ebay and western union not to proceed. Be careful as the saying goes if its too good to be true it probably is. this is the second scam I discovered within a week. Both times ebay removed the account quickly. Boy you sure talked to the wrong people. First, never ever buy off the record where e-bay can't account for the sale. The people that you talked to should have told you that you would not be able to leave feedback without e-bay being in the mix. Second, money sent to the UK accounts for something like 40% of wire fraud. Most of these frauds will even tell the buyer not to tell Western Union that they are sending money for something they bought on e-bay. Their rationale for this is by telling the buyer that they will avoid a tax when in reality, the fraud knows that Western Union will warn the buyer that a sale like this, in many cases, is a scam. The seller, in many cases, suggest that the buyer tell Western Union that they are sending money to family or a friend.

He is NOT a power seller on ebay. IF anyone offers to sell you an item outside of Ebay, it's more than likely a scam. The real Power Seller's identity was stolen, and this guy is selling non-existent items. Funny thing is, the letter he sent you is almost identical to others being sent in the same situation, which points to a very large and organized scam operation. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER use Western Union as a form of payment to buy ANYTHING. That in itself screams SCAM. It cannot be traced, and Western Union won't do anything to find this person, even though they were supposed to have gotten his ID at the time he picked up the money. Usually, the thief has a friend at the local W U office, so a fake Id is never questioned.
