Days Inn Bugs in the room - we did not stay but got charged! Hollywood California
Watch Your Back! Apparently the Days Inn off of 7023 Sunset Blvd in Hollywood, CA has decided to go ahead and start charging customers for rooms that they are not checked into. After spending the day walking the streets of Hollywood we decided to get a hotel room.
We decided on what we thought was a good hotel, the front desk personnel were nice and everything was fine until we entered our room. We had been in the room less than 2 minutes when my girlfriend came out screaming from the bathroom. There was a roach on the floor, ants on the wall and on the bed.
Obviously this is not acceptable! We decided that the Days Inn wasn't suitable for our stay anymore. I went down stairs to inform the manager on duty, Eric. He sent someone, who looked to be the maintenance man, upstairs to, I guess, verify the bug. The manager then asked me if he could move me into another room, I told him that there wasn't any way we would be able to stay here comfortably now. Eric assured me that my credit card would not be charged and that he was sorry for the inconvenience. And that was that.
After receiving my bank statement, I noticed the charge on my account from Days Inn. Since that day, I have contacted Eric four times, faxed over the same bank statement three times and still no refund. Today 9/28 now marks our one month anniversary, I called Eric to see what he was still doing about this problem. Eric concluded that he will not be reimbursing my check account.
To a college student $102.54 is a lot of money and cannot afford to just donate it to an open shut case. We did not stay in the room that day. I think there is a 15 minute policy I read about in a different complaint so again we were in and out within 10 minutes. There were bugs in the room, HELLO! So now, I have to take more time out of my life to correct his and Days Inn's so called problem.
I've written to their "contact us" link on their website hoping that someone is able to help me out. But the rumor is that they tend to lose customer complaints. I guess I'll have to keep waiting and waiting hoping that my bank will be able to help me out. The best thing about it is, I'll probably end up having to spend even more money to take legal actions if the bank isn't able to help.
Too bad Days Inn is truly the loser in this whole dispute. They have lost my business forever and everyone that I ever come in contact with because there is nothing worse than the word of mouth. Days Inn might want to check who they have running and representing their name.
