I too found a vehicle, an ASV Skid Steer, for my construction business on Craigslist for sale and contacted the seller (thru email) only to find out the vehicle was being sold thru a third party, Dewey Auto Consignor, Inc. After negotiating a great price (too good to be true), I received an invoice from Dewey Auto Consignor to wire them the funds and they would hold it in an escrow account until I received the machine and was satisfied with it (7 day money back guarantee). So, before sending the money I did some research on Dewey Auto Consignor (aka DAC) and found they do NOT have a real place of business, they have a phony bank account and bank address and the person selling the machine did not really exist.
Also, the BBB has no record of this business in their data base and could not substantiate their legal right to conduct business in this country. Even though this company has a long list of great reviews, mostly from imaginary people on Facebook, they will never talk with you in person or return your calls. And, the person selling the vehicle will never actually speak with you either or give you any detail information as to the vehicles' condition and whereabouts in a phone conversation. BEWARE! this company is a scam and out to rip you off !!!!
