2 months after my account was closed and I moved to a new address, DishNet charged my credit card $130.

When I informed them that I was moving and closing the account, they told me to take the boxes to the new address in case I wanted Dish Network at the new address.

When I informed them that I didn't want to continue service at the new address, and I'd recieved dozens of calls and emails trying to persuade me to continue the service, they stated that they would send boxes to return the receivers. No boxes were ever recieved, and I've had no problems with my mail, let alone UPS who seem to never lose mail. And 2 months later the charge appears on my credit card.

I called Dish and informed them that no boxes were recieved and that I was not notified that they would be charging my credit card. I talked to 3 supposed supervisors asking them to return the money to my account, citing that they had not sent me the boxes and it was not possible to return the recievers. I asked for a comfirmation or tracking number showing the boxes had been sent, but they had none. Now, according to their "policy", I must wait to recieve more boxes, then wait for the recievers to reach them, and then wait another period to have the money returned to my account...which, from reading all these complaints, I suspect may take a lifetime or more.

According to the highest smart*ss "supervisor" I talked to, it is in the fine print of the contract I signed, that they can pretty much charge my card at will without notifying me if they feel I owe them something. I could go no higher than this guy. He stated he was at the top of the chain, and that anyone higher up than him did not take calls.

It is my opinion that this may be pretty much standard procedure to say they sent out the boxes to return (probably old outdated) recievers, fail to do so and then charge your card without notifying you.

This sort of business just irks me to no end and it is a horrible feeling to know these guys have my credit card number and can basically steal money like this whenever they feel like it.

You need to contact your credit card company and dispute the charge. I had a similar problem and contacted the dispute resolution section of my credit card company. They investigated my complaint and reversed the charges that were made to my credit card.
