This a company based out of Bloomfield, NJ. You can work for them two ways: either as an already licensed agent or as aspiring agent where they have an insurance school in the office and you get licensed through them. Here is how it works: You respond to an ad in the paper and they put you into a room. Then they show you salespeoples commissions. These commissions are in the $200k to $300k. The person running the show makes it look so easy. They explain that they are selling final expense insurance and medicare. Final expense insurance is low face value life insurance that is designed to just be enough for the cost of funeral. Its sold to older people who, because they are old, cant afford traditional life insurance.
I went through the insurance school. They only train you for either life or health, not both when I was there. The charge you for the school which comes out of your commssions. The school by the way was quite good, I got licensed on the first try. Then they give you what they call "reworks". These are lead cards that have been worked by other agents; the agents that were there before you that washed out of the program. These cards have all writings and notes on them. The cards were really worthless because they were for old people and many of them were dead or in nursing homes. The average card was 3 years old, some were 5 years old.
The cards say nothing about insurance. What they state is if someone is interested in supplementing or protecting their social security income. The average person files out the card and then gets a person comming to their house trying to sell them final expense life insurance. So many people are pissed when they see you come over.
Out of all the people in my class that took the class to get licensed, only one person stayed for one year. Then all of the other classes, all the people dropped out, from what I heard. When I was there, the salespeople were all complaining and angry about the leads with each person quiting like in a line almost.
The lead cards are not even Diversified, they are from the companies that they do business with. All Diversified is doing is to hand these cards to the agents and see what they can do. If you dont do enough sales, say 5-7 per week, then they ask you to leave.
Sitting in their office during the weekly meeting, I didnt see all of the agents making those numbers like they said. In fact, I saw a revolving door of people who werent even there for a year with some of the people doing well. There were no "old timers" (my definition being 5 years plus) there, everyone seemed everyone was a newbie.
If you can handle the rework lead cards, then they give you fresh leads that you pay for. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I never got to that level. I did meet some people that got to that level and they were cited at the meetings for the work that they did, but they dropped out soon too.
I cant tell you how hard I worked to get sales from those leads. I did at least two sales each week. Most people who came and went are bitter about their experiences there. Now the company is expanding into other states.
After you wash out, you are sent a bill for the license school. If you have commissions due to you, then they take it out of that. Plan to get that great feeling of "making no money and then what you did make, was taken from you" feeling!
Just my final thoughts here, beware of any job that wants you to work on a 1099 form. Thats the form where you are an independent contractor and you pay your own taxes. Thats what this job was all about. A 1099 form is a red flag for any future company that you may be interested in working for.
Hope this helps.

As a current employee under this company, I can surely let anyone know that is reading his post that it is ABSOLUTELY unreliable and illegitimate. This man, David (the one who put the negative review) is an absolute lost cause. If you research his job history online during the time he attempted to be employed under our company, he was absolutely unreliable and couldn't even hold a job for a year. I doubt that every company he was employed under was the problem. During his time here, there are countless testimonials by current employers about how sour his attitude was, how angry he was, and how much negativity he brought with him. Unfortunately, he was someone who was mistakedly brought upon the company and it was a mistake upon both parties, however he is simply trying to tarnish our reputation with his post.
Due to his post, the affect has been absolutely terrible and allowing YOU, the READER, to have a false view of our company. He is the ONLY negative review online, as well as another user, but the pattern is that they both didn't even last a month in the company. We have PLENTY of long-term associates that can grant testimonials about how great we are, how much they love working for us, and how much care we put into each and every employee EQUALLY. Do not let David Salt's original post mislead you.
I was not paid to leave this review, I was not told to leave this by my boss, I am simply an honest employee leaving an honest rebuttal. Do not take what David says as your deciding factor of whether or not to check out our wonderful company.
We aren't one of those fake marketing pyramid scheme companies; we are LEGIT.

After I left Diversified, I got a call from some of the other Diversified former agents who were working for another insurance company. I got hired by the other company and got the advantages of working for a real company this time. I received an award for all of my sales (not bad for someone who is disgruntled and didnt meet up to the so called high standards of Diversified), received health insurance, received my health insurance license paid for by the company, and if I wanted to stay, a pension. In addition, I got a professional designation course 100% paid for by the company and the course was encouraged and required to be taken by all sales employess. At Diversified all I got a 1099 form and a bill for an overpriced insurance school.
The other Diversified agents that were there had nothing but bad things to say about their experience at Diversified. By the way, each one told me that just about everyone dropped out of the training program within a few months of graduating the companie's insurance school for their respective time their at the company. In my class, everyone dropped out except one person.

The Diversified Companies is an industry leader
in the Final Expense market place that represents major life insurance. In
addition, Diversified has teamed with another industry leader, Dignity Planning
to create a tool to assist all agents to perform to the best of their abilities
and provide a valuable service free of charge to the public.
Please take note, we are far from a new
company or venture. For over 30 years, the Diversified Companies has helped
consumers and agents throughout the northeast by providing them life and health
insurance and opportunities.
Like many other sales positions, this can be a
very lucrative career for those willing to work hard to be successful. It is
not easy. If the representatives do not follow our proven system of success and
are not willing to accept our coaching, there is no point in continuing our
relationship. One representative, who did not agree with our system and didnt
perform to potential, filed a bogus report. This report is inaccurate and demeans
a proven system of success. This system has helped many people become
successfully licensed Final Expense Agents. Many of our agents grow within our
management system to further their sales career. The author of this post is a
disgruntled agent who did not do what was needed to become successful and is
not willing to accept responsibility for his own shortcomings.
The fact is that 80% of our agents have been
with us for over a year. The reason why some agents do not make it through to
the point of management is because they are not committed to their career. For
example, take the author of this post, David07003, in less than a year, held
three different jobs, (none of which lasted over 9 months).
In addition, David brought up that we show our agents
commissions. He obviously has us
confused with another organization that he must have encountered in his
journey. Diversified never discusses
commissions of other agents with anyone. This information is completely
confidential. The sharing of this information is not only unprofessional, but
unethical. As our websites states, we
reward hard work.
Moving forward, it is imperative to understand
the hiring process. From the beginning, all recruits are invited to watch an
initial video that explains the potential with our company. From there, each
candidate meets with one of our Regional Managers, who have been with the
company for 10 years or more. If there is a mutual fit, the candidate is setup
with one of our managers, who have been employed here for a minimum of 3 years
and has a track record of success, to train and learn the sales process. After the
licensing that we pay for, training school is completed and the agent is ready
to work for themselves as a self contracted, independent 1099 employee.
The boundaries are limitless, provided you show
up ready to work hard. As you can see, Diversified invests in every person that
walks in the door, immediately. We do not claim that it is easy.
In the previous post, it states that we only
offer training for life or health, not both. This is completely true. Here at
Diversified, we believe that focus breeds success. Diversified Final Expense
Specialists does not train new employees for Medicare (a health insurance
program) because they are Final Expense agents licensed to sell for one
purpose, Final Expense (a life insurance program).
In addition, the lead cards generated are done
through an outside agency that is State and Government regulated. This is the reason
The Diversified Companies is not on any of the leads. We purchase the leads
from an outside vendor, who follows all regulations in the direct mail process.
Every lead specifically indicates they are for life insurance.
As we previously stated, Diversified invests
immediately in you. Any bill that is received after termination is due to the
fact that a breach of contract has been met by the candidate. As well as the licensing,
our training manual has a high cost, not only to make but also in its contents.
Should any of our competitors obtain this information, they can harm our
company and business. For that reason, candidates are held responsible and made
aware, in advance, of the cost if not turned in after termination.
It is our ardent passion to do everything we
possibly can to positively impact the lives of every agent who commits
themselves to our system. For more information on this rebuttal and about the Diversified
Companies process, please feel free to call Diversified Companies at 800-662-2901.
As well, feel free to visit our website at TheDiversifiedCompanies.com.

This a company based out of Bloomfield, NJ that is now expanding to other states.
You can work for them two ways: either as an already licensed agent or as aspiring agent where they have an insurance school in the office and you get licensed through them.
Here is how it works: You respond to an employment ad in the paper or on the internet and after you respond they make an appointment for you to see a seminar about the company. Then they put you into a room with other salespeople and tell you about the job. Then they show you salespeoples commissions. These commissions are in the $200k to $300k. The person running the show makes it look so easy. They explain that they are selling final expense insurance and medicare. Final expense insurance is low face value life insurance that is designed to just be enough for the cost of funeral. Its sold to older people who, because they are old, cant afford traditional life insurance which is meant to protect someones family and has high face values. Keep in mind that this insurance is not cheap, even though they make it sound like it is.
I went through the insurance school. They only train you for either life or health, not both when I was there. The charge you for the school which comes out of your commissions. The cost of the school is high because if you were to go to another commercial school, they would give you the life and health license course that Diversified charges for just the life course.
The school by the way was quite good, I got licensed on the first try. Then, once out of school, they give you what they call "reworks". These are lead cards that have been worked by other agents; the agents that were there before you that washed out of the program. These cards have all writings and notes on them from the agents that were there before you. Out of all the people in my class that took the class to get licensed, only one person stayed for one year. Then all of the other future classes that I found out about had the people drop out due to lack of sales.

There were no "old timers" (my definition being 5 years plus), it seemed like everyone was a newbie. If you can handle the rework lead cards and generate sales, then they give you fresh leads that you pay for.
After you wash out, you are sent a bill for the license school. If you have commissions due to you, then they take it out of that; so dont plan to get that last check from these people.
Just my final thoughts here, beware of any job that wants you to work on a 1099 form. Thats the form where you are an independent contractor and you pay your own taxes. Thats what this job was all about. A 1099 form is a red flag for any future company that you may be interested in working for.
