I enrolled in a trail subscription for a software product called Facedominator. The product helps edit and publish facebook messages. The website said you can sign up for a trial subscription for 3 days. If you keep the account you will be billed $99.95 for an annual subscription. I signed up and then on the 2nd day I decided not to keep the product and submitted a cancellation notice in their system. They system showed my account had been cancelled.
To my surprise I received a bill on my American Express Card for $99.95 which was billed through my PayPal account. I first request a refund to the merchant and they said the would "have management check into it". Thee responded later saying that this was a "recurring charge" and that I should have cancelled it in PayPal. That was not stipulated in the sign up form. So I contacted PayPal and explained the situation and they refused to credit me. I then contacted American Express and explained what happened they first credited my account then I received a letter from them saying they were rebilling my account $99.95 and they said it was based on "documentation" The documentation was a joke. It was nothing more than a form with a lot of illegable numbers and letters on it. It was blurred and the type face was so small you could not even read it.
On top of all this the software quit working. So I'm out the $99.95, got nothing for it, never should have been billed in the first place and couldn't get any help from PayPal or American Express.
As far as I'm concerned this company is nothing but a bunch of crooks - stay away! Also American Express use to be good about supporting their customers but apparently their policy has changed. Very disappointed in American Express.
