The labor time for that engine replacement is 19 hours, worst case. They charged you $315/hour?! YIKES! Ram 2500, 3500 w/o High Output 2003 - 2005 R5093537AA $5050.00 w/High Output 2003 - 2005 R5093539AA $5555.00 These are the OEM factory replacement engine FULL LIST prices. Add a couple hours labor to install the cylinder head. I hope the shop that did the work gave you a big kiss.

the engine was a 2004 cummings turbo diesel. it ruined the engine and turbo which cost 10,000 to replace and 6,000 for dealer to install. thats how i come up with 16,000. i thought it was pretty expensive to but whats a guy do. they had me bent over a barrel.

I was trying to understand how a motor would cost 16 thousand dollars? I think that some of the new diesels can cost up to 10 thousand dollars installed but not the price you are giving. Please include the make, model and engine size of the truck you are talking about. As far a doing engine modification on a brand new vehicle, the manufacture will void your warranty. On a new Ford, just putting on a KN air filter will void replacement of some of the sensors. As far as what you did have done, it seems that you would be able to do legal follow-up to hold the business responsible if you will be able to show that the work was negligent or done incorrectly.
