Todd Miller and Laura Kirsche or Efficeincy Homes and Landscapes Inc. were hired by my girlfriend and I to do a tiling job and closet renovation on her mother's condo in Toronto. Laura and Todd promised a lot, but as soon as they got the downpayment of over $1500, there were problems. They were always late beyond their scheduled time, they cancelled meetings on the progress of the condo with no or less than 30 minutes notice, and they were hostile when confronted about this. They removed only half the original flooring that they were to replace and would show up very late, arrange, but not lay and cement 3, not more than 3, tiles, and then leave for the day. They removed baseboarding by using a claw hammer and prying against the drywall, creating massive holes in the wall, and they left garbage, including what appeared to be cigarette butts in the condo. They also did a very hack job about roughing in the closet renovation, by just bashing a giant hole in the wall. After less than 10% of the work was done, and holding 20% of the total quoted amount, they came back asking for more money. We told them that we were unhappy with the work done so far and told them to get lost, they got extremely hostile.
I strongly recommend against Todd and Laura and their business, they promise a lot at what seems a great price, but the work they do is incompetent, and in retrospect, I very much believe that this is a pattern of how they operate their scam business, leading along the customer to get more and more money, with doing little actual work, and none of the work they did could be called "skilled" or "craftsmanship" in any way. Now I have damaged walls, garbage in the condo, and I am out about $1000 (the amount left over from the deposit after I budgeted what little value of the work that was actually done).
