After contacting the BBB, I realized that they deserve their own Rip-Off report filed against them. The response to my claim: 5/02/2006 Ms. A states that he computer is out of warranty and there is not evidence in our database that an extended warranty was purchased to cover issues of an aging computer notebook. That means that every issue that arrises will be treated as a new issue. The cost of $244.00 that was paid by Ms. Alanen was to cover this issues of the motherboard and the subsequent return to fix the firewire connection. The issue of the hard drive not being recognized is a new issue and not covered under the original payment of $244.00. This means an additional fee will be required for this new issue. Ms. A can contact the Corporate Resolution team she previously contacted for assistance with this issue. However, there will be no refund of the original payment or a free service for the hard drive. So, not only do they have bad grammar, they do not honor the warranty on their own repairs. And the BBB gives them a very nice rating, with 700+ complaints, while they rate another very large computer corporation, who is not a member, very poorly, though they have less than five complaints.
