This report is being written by a former Enterprise employee, so I am sympathetic to the company. At least I was, up until this incident.
On Friday, 10/22 I dropped my wifes car off at our local Honda dealership. The work done would take a whole day, so they set me up in a rental car from Enterprise. I was picked up by Enterprise at 1:30pm EST.
They put me in a car and I immediately drove home (10 minutes away) and parked the car in my driveway overnight.
Around 3:00pm on Saturday, 10/23 my personal vehicle was ready so I drove the rental car up to the Honda dealership (about 10 minutes away), parked it and picked up my wifes car.
In total, I put 14 miles on the Enterprise car. When I dropped the car off on Saturday at the dealership, the car was just as I had left it. The Honda Service writer has verified he saw no significant damage to the car
Today, Thursday 10/28, I receive a call from Erik at the local Enterprise that "there was significant front bumper damage and the whole front grill is missing. Since you were the last one to rent the car, we had to file a claim." He mentioned that the ENTERPRISE DRIVER who picked up the car did not notice the damage. The Drive then drove the car to a completely different branch and it was someone at that branch who noticed it and reported it.
So, 5 days after I dropped the car off and at least 4 different parties later (myself, Honda, Enterprise Driver, Enterprise Branch, I'm being held responsible for a vehicle I did not damage. IF there was damage when I dropped it off, why did the Enterprise Driver not notice and report it before he moved the car one inch??
Fortunately, the service Manager at Honda is involved and told me he will fight for me and stop using Enterprise if this is not resolved. Nonetheless, this is a complete sham by Enterprise. I am very disappointed at the hassle and frustration of this false claim by Enterprise
