This is the second worst rental experience experience we have had. The first was with the same place. This is the place of choice for our insurance company. So the first time they got away with being very crappy. This time we just walked out. It is not that important. They would not get my or my insurance company's money.
Before they even explained what they were trying to give us they were trying to get us to pay 100.00 up front. Last time they did the same thing and charged us extra above this for taxes 9about 55.00), and to cover what the insurance company did not cover for the cost of the bigger vehicles. We were in the middle of refusing because of what happened last time when we asked what were they going to give us... a 15 passanger van. Really?
My husband drove out 1 hour after speaking to them and arranging an appropriate, small, economical vehicle because they refused to pick me up 3 miles away from their location even though that is their biggest claim to fame. The old bait and switch lands you with a Suburban, (last time) and/or a 15 passenger van, (This time) and/or a souped up race car, (always the second choice) that guzzle fuel. Each one that I have seen or had in the past reeked like stale, over filled ashtrays, and dryer sheets, which are actually shoved into the vents. While they have SEVERAL small, economical vehicals right in the back, clean and ready to go.
On top of their mistake of incorrect information, switching and extortion they were extremely rude in a cocky way like we did not have a choice. At that point we just felt it best to walk out and take our business elsewhere.
