Everex Computers Laptop Repair Fremont California
I purchased an Everex laptop computer in June 2007 for $750 via Newegg.com. The screen died December 23, 2008. Per customer service I paid $24.95 to send it in to their 1045 Mission Court facility for repair/diagnosis. My receipt shows they received it January 9th. I did not receive any confirmation of their having received it, or any email about it. I finally called and was told the computer was received and that they would let me know what happens with its diagnosis once it is processed. They were able to give me no time table of when to expect to hear back, except, maybe "around 3 weeks". I still heard nothing back.
I just called again, January 30th, and they told me that the motherboard was faulty, a problem with the laptop's manufacture, and therefore I would not have to pay for its repair. That's great. However, due to the "Baltic Dry Index" they have not been able to receive the parts necessary for its repair and have no idea when the part will be received to repair it, and to try calling back in another week. They told me that the parts shipment was already "a week and half overdue," although of course I received no email about this. The only way to contact them is via this phone number they gave me.
I am now wary of ever purchasing from this company again. They do offer cheap prices - but this is certainly the down side of "you get what you pay for."
