Financial Accountability Associates Harrassing phone call about a supposed payday loan I never took one out ever!!! Los Angles California
I received a phone call from a supposed company called- Financial Accountability Associates and a man Named Alan Parker who when I answered the phone started screaming at me saying I was going to be arrested by the local police department in my town due to a payday loan I received and never paid back which was charges off on NOvember 6th, 2008. He claimed the money was deposited into my JP morgan chase bank account in my town. I found this hilarious as there is no JP morgan chase bank in my town or surrounding towns as I live in rural New England. he new my social security number as well as my childrens names. this was extremely creepy to me. I asked for his office phone number and address and was given a cell phone number and told that there was not land line number for the office all the attorney's had their own numbers and there was no receptionist. What law firm does not have a receptionist, as a women with friends who are lawyers, I can tell you not many.....mayeb the ocassional semi-retired man/woman with a part time practice. Also wouldn't a real attorney happily give you his bar association number to prove his credibility.
After considering this fact I went to the california state bar website anbd search the name given and spellout out for me by the person who called my house, the name he gave was Alan Parker, the person calling me was Clearly from India and had a thick accent. He stated he was attorney Alan Parker when I called the only active Alan parker in the California bar association he was a very pleasant american man. who I gave all the information of my phone call too because I thought it was ridiculous that a person was using his name and identify to pursue an obvious scam. Since I have NEVER taken a paid loan. The person I spoke with from this supposed financial accountability associates was rude disrespectful and threatening he knew the name of my child!!! which I found extremely creepy. told me my son who is only 14 years old could be in serious threat of arrest as well as myself. Being a single divorced woman with a degree in Business, training in Business Law as well, I knew this phone call was absolutely a scam and after hanging up the phone notified my attorney as well as the real Alan Parker who practices in California, the California Bar Association and the Los angeles police department. I wanted to report this because it was the most unbelievable outrageous and creepy call I have ever received and I wanted others to be aware. If you owe a loan for any amount you would receive letters in the mail, first from the lender if you let them go ..the next step would be a collection call and eventually court to collect it you would not receive phone calls threatening you safety and your other fanily members. the person calling you would be able to legitimately identify him/herself.. provide a company name and office number and supervisor name and number as well. They would have a legit number to call where someone with a pleasant manner would answer the phone and say "good day you have reach __________ how may I direct your call" I encourage you all to ask questions !!!!! a professional is goin to answer the questions you ask like who was the lending company? when was this loan? where was it supposedly deposited? how much was the loan for? A real collection agency or attorney would be able to answer these question! I asked this person on the phoen for a company number that was not a cell phone and they told me to hold on while the looked it up. what lawyer does not know by heart the number of his office as I am sure he calls a paralegal or secretary numerous times a day for research info and messages. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM !!!
