I ordered a pair of $125 shoes from Footsmart. I tried them on (less than 1 minute process in my dining room which has a hardwood floor). They didn't fit, so I returned them for a refund over a month ago. Here's where things start to go terribly wrong....
Today I received the shoes back in the mail. Footsmart says the shoes were "not in their original unused condition" so they can't refund. I look at the shoes. There is a little dust on the bottoms. I wipe it off with a damp paper towel and now the bottoms are perfect. There is not one scuff, scrape, or dirt of any kind on the shoes. They are brand new.
I call Footsmart customer service. The woman tells me they take a picture of all shoes that they refuse to refund, and that "the picture clearly shows the shoes are scuffed and have been walked in on a concrete surface". She tells me I cannot return the shoes for her to take another look. I'm out $125, plus the cost of shipping the shoes twice!
This is so infuriating! I've ordered from Footsmart before and I know there shipping costs are quite high, but this is the last straw. Now I see that this exact same thing has happened to a bunch of people. So beware! I think every shoe Footsmart has is also available on (((competitors' names redacted))), or other way more reliable internet stores. Stay away from Footsmart...this could happen to you!
sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
