Many providers will no longer contract with Gallagher-Bassett, as they will authorize treatment for injured workers and then refuse to pay or, if the provider is lucky, will try to pay below Medicare rate and that is if you kick, scream and stamp your feet for months. The providers get screwed almost as much as the injured workers, because once a patient is accepted, the physicians cannot abandon care when they don't get paid. In many states, the provders cannot bill the patient if the bills are not paid by the carrier for treatment they authorized. GB looks for any reason not to pay, and will close a claim on an injured worker in a heartbeat. My heart goes out to any injured worker unfortunate enough to have Gallagher-Bassett as a Work Comp carrier.

Gallagher Basset is not the only one. Travelers Insurance does the same thing. They even sent in a hack to where my husband was having PT and she accused him of faking the injury! His accident was witnessed by several co-workers. How can you fake fluid on your knees, no reflex in your legs, etc? After 10! years he finally got an MRI out of them, which showed several bulged and deformed dics in his back and pinched nerves. They still would not ok any care. All he could get from the bribed Drs. was anti-inflamatories that eventually caused kidney failure. Workmans Comp is a sick joke on the working man.

GALLAGHER BASSETT: What can I say. Slow pay or No pay. Slow pay to your Doctors! No Pay to you! This is an Insurance Company that needs some oversight or investigation by a Government entity. Gallagher Bassett is a Company that is Hired by large or smaller companies that have Compensation problems. In other words, they are Insurance HACKS! They were hired to save your company money. Not your well being. And if you keep that in mind you will be better off. (Sneaky Tactics) Two days before an IME exam with there Doctor. I had an exam with mine, which they did not O.K.the exam. (Sneaky) One month after an IME exam. They had the Doctor change the wording in his report. To help them out. ADVICE: 1)Get a good Compensation lawyer. Not a large firm. The smaller the better. I have good lawyers and they spin mine like a top. 2) If your state allows you. Always have someone with you during the IME. exam. or don't take it at all. 3) Have enough savings to back you for a least 1 year. They will starve you back to work. If they can. Even if your still injured.
