On or about 9/16/17 I was on my computer when it went to a red screen and said It had a virus. My computer was locked up but had a # to contact for help, which I did. This put me in touch with Geeks America who said for 199.00 they could fix or for 699.99 would repair ANY problem for the life of the computer, so I got the LIFETIME COMPLETE at that price. Not knowing, I gave them control of my computer to fix the problems. I forgot to mention that I found it odd that everyone spoke with an Indian or Pakistani type accent but had typical names like George, Charles, Bob, Hank, Venus.
All was okay till 12/19/17 when I got notice of a virus on my screen. Contacted Geeks and Spoke with Russell first then John then Charles and finally Hank they fixed it.
On 1/16/18 I called them complaining of a slow computer. Venus took control and attempted to fixed i. About 1 1/2 hrs later they called back and asked me to try computer and I did finding it only a little better. I told them it was still slow.
On 2/14/18 had to call again, computer stating I was hacked that my account and other finances were effected. They recommended a virus protection system to be added to what I already had for ANOTHER $699.99. I told them I had already paid and would pay no more and that repairs would be on them because I had LIFETIME COMPLETE protection. He said he would speak to his supervisor and call back. Got a call back apologizing if anyone had asked for money and he acknowledged that I had full protection. They worked on computer for a couple hours and completed.
I am not sure of the date but shortly after my last experience I got a call from some body saying they was with Geeks. I asked them for the ID # and the person got an attitude. I told them I would not let them on my computer and hung up. I tried to call Geeks America several times with NO RESPONSE. I figured that was it for Geek and that I had been scammed all along. Serveral days later I got a call from a guy saying he was with GEEKS AMERICA to inform me they had changed their name to TECH NINJA and gave me new # 888-441-3601 and 888-441-3515.
On 8/7/18 I got a call about 5:00p.m. central time from "GEEKS AMERICA" according to the guy I was on the line with. He said for me they would no longer provide the service and to go to my computer and get on line so he could pay back what they owed me. I told him I would not let him on my comuputer that he had my address and that anyting they owed could be sent there, conversation ended. In all this the people you spoke with seemed friendly and courteous most all the time while knowing what they had done. Shame it did not hit me till it was to late.
