Great American Events Face Value of Theater Ticket -$69. Charged to my cc $155.00. Co. said that's what the "value" of the ticket was! Never Knew! Should go to theater to puchase. Internet
I went looking for an inexpensive theater ticket. I found one on Great American Events---or did I??!! The Hairspray balcony (nose-bleed section) was listed for $89 on the site. I bought the ticket and knew that I would pay the $15 FedEx fee. I also knew that the $89 was probably marked up. They are a ticket broker, I know how that works.
BUT, when I got the ticket. The face value is $69. Still, no problem, $20 mark-up, is ok with me.
BUT, I get the cc bill...$155.00! The co. explained that this was the "value" of the ticket!--Get Out of here! It's not even a new show.
Please warn people to use the theater or know EXACTLY what the co. is charging at the time of purchase---NOT to be surprised with an amt. that is DOUBLE the real worth of the ticket.
