...how is it even possible to owe $63,000 on a fifteen year old mobile home?
Are you sure that your payments are being applied properly?
Green Tree is another of those mortgage servicers with a "reputation". It might be a good idea to have your account audited or something.

Ok, I went over our origional contract and it states that if the house can be repaired or restored then we can do those things. Our policy stated to repair or replace. Well under the definition of restore replacement is a valid option. It took getting our local senator and newspaper involved bit Green Tree did agree to a collateral swap. That means that they are allowing us to purchase another home with the insurance money and continue with our payments as long as we sign new home over as security. So we will no longer be homeless and will have a safe home for my husband, myself and our children to reside. And we will continue with our current mortgage. Sometimes you just gotta push and do whatever you can to get your voice heard.

i worked as a painter all my life. I was 52 when I met my wife who is 30 years younger than I am. She had a 3 year old son whom I have helped raise since and consider my own. When I was in Vietnam I came down with a parasite and it was misdiagnosed so was never treated. I was told I could not have children but turned out VA misdiagnosed that as well and I became a father at age 59. During my wifes pregnancy I started having trouble with my health and that is when we found out about the parasite that has been slowly but methodically destroyng my body. I am at the point now that I am in a wheelchair and on oxygen and have severe health issues but I will continue to fight for my family. They are my joy. If you have ever seen the show " Monsters Inside Me " on Animal Planet you will recognize me from the very first show. I am the Vietnam Veteran they interviewed. When my health went so did a lot of my friends. But my wife has stuck by me and fought for my care every step of the way. She quit her job as a nurse so I would not have to go into a nursing home and be a father. It has been hard financially but she makes it work. If every man had a wife so devoted there would be no divorce. I know God has been watching out for me all of my life and even though I find myself where I am now in this situation and with my health I can truly say that He has blessed me.

I am truly sorry to hear of your loss.
I have a question.
You state that your husband is a Viet Nam Vet and he has a 5 YO child.
If that 5 YO is indeed your husband's child...he would have to be 60+ years old when the child was conceived. I find it unbelievable that a disabled, unemployed Viet Nam Vet on 24 hr oxygen would produce not only one, but two children???????
Did I miss something?
