We had hired Greenwald & Hoffman, LLP (Paul Evan Greenwald and Paul Hoffman) as our lawyers in connection with several small defense matters, after a company I was working for had retained Greenwald, and seemed pleased with his work. Although Paul E. Greenwald seemed thorough initially, and communicated well, his and his 2 person law firm became a major dissapointment to us. Albeit thorough, he had little to offer by way of strategy, and his billing practices rivaled those of major law firms, which we were hoping to get away from. When we politely questioned some of his bills, Paul Greenwald became hostile. He dropped us after we paid him a great deal of money, and abandoned my company as well, after we paid him a fortune over one year. He then called our new attorneys and badmouthed us. He told us that we were his largest client, and one of the few clients he had. Now we know why. Paul Greenwald is ungrateful, hostile, and at best mediocre. What makes him dangerous in my opnion is his billing practices. I understand that some people may have had positive experiences with Paul Greenwald and his firm, but we are not part of that group. He has cost us a lot of money and time, and is a heavy handed billing machine with little to offer as to strategy, or compassion on a human level. Think twice before you retain Greenwald & Hoffman. They promise a great deal, but in our experience delivered huge bills, and poor service.

I was a client of Greenwald & Hoffman in Santa Ana. Although I would not characterize my short-lived business relationship with Greenwald & Hoffman as a truly bad experience, I would not retain them as lawyers in the future. I read the string of comments on this site, and find the responses from Greenwald & Hoffman Employee somewhat amusing and irrational. Of course, with many web sites such as this one, it is next to impossible to determine the legitimacy of most complaints and allegations people make in anonymous posts. Therefore, I do not know if the people posted were actual clients of Paul Greenwald or Paul Hoffman.
Notwithstanding, it appears that someone has been responding to the complaints against the Greenwald & Hoffman law firm. The responses are ridiculous. First, it is all too convinent to blame one person or one former client for numerous complaints. Why should anyone believe a lawyer who actually takes time to respond to complaints on ripoffreport.com? The ananymous Greenwald & Hoffman employee is accusing the posting parties of using fake names. Strange. It is the pot calling the kettle black.
That is generally what people do on complaint sites, and one would think that Paul Greenwald and Paul Hoffman would understand that, and be above petty and angry responses. All this does is let the posters know that their complaints are working. Speaking about wasting time. I actually agree. I don't think that any one person is wasting his or her time. Chances are that at least some of the complaints are legitmate, and the pattern may be telling a compelling story to would be clients and consumers.
What rational lawyer would waste time responding to every complaint on the Internet? Chances are that if you had hired Greenwald & Hoffman you would understand. These people are good at recording their time, but are not very analytical. I am not suggesting that the reader believe the complaints online. Instead, just check references, and ask either Paul to explain their strategy without using platitudes. There are many better lawyers out there in Orange County for much less money. That is my opinion. Oh, and yes, Paul, I am not posting my name or email or details about the matter you handled in such a mediocre way. This may surprise you.

Once again, someone is making another false statement and this time using the name JR2 - Vurton (Tokelau) which is also a made up name. These false statements and fraudulent posts seem to come from a common source and are posted on many different websites. As far as consumers doing your research, please do so. The only thing negative you will find about Greenwald & Hoffman are these fraudulent and negative posts, which use various made up names and say the same thing.
Reilly v. Greenwald & Hoffman does not involve allegations by a former client. Rather, it is a case that Greenwald & Hoffman won after being frivolously sued by a former opponent. Also, NRG did not sue Greenwald & Hoffman. This is a false statement.

There are many former "disgruntled" clients. Take a look at Reilly v Greenwald & Hoffman or Private Equity and NRG who sued Greenwald & Hoffman.
A search of public records and lawsuits will show how many times Greenwald & Hoffman have been sued by former clients. These are vindictive, petty, small time lawyers that squeeze
their clients. My company was billed over $45k for a matter that another firm
settled for a fraction of that amount. The response from "Greenwald &
Hoffman employee" says everything about both of these attorney. By the way, they
have no employees other than a paralegal. Sad, depressing people who pray on
others... that is who they are. Consumers do your research - speak with their
former clients, and dont fall for their pitch. There are many lawyers out there
hungry for business. Look for people who are honest and who value business
relationships and have integrity. One Day these two lawyers will face justice.

I am an employee of Greenwald & Hoffman, LLP. This report is entirely fraudulent. This is an attempt to defame us by a former disgruntled client who did not pay for services rendered. Anyone who knows Paul Greenwald knows he is not a hostile person and would not abandon his clients. After multiple missed payments for services rendered & costs fronted by Greenwald & Hoffman (i.e. fees advanced for Court filing fees, etc.) for this former disgruntled client, even the Court agreed Mr. Greenwald should not continue working for free for this client. Greenwald & Hoffman offers much in terms of strategy to help our clients win or settle cases. In fact, Mr. Greenwald has been asked multiple times to give presentations on his successful strategies at different events in which he generously donates his time, at no cost, with no payment received in return.
Regarding the post from Mike from Huntington Beach. We have never had a client named Mike from Huntington Beach. This is the same former disgruntled client who has created another "fake" name, to post yet another fraudulent claim.
This former disgruntled client is so pathetic that he has nothing better to do with his time, then to create fake names and post fraudulent reports on multiple websites, making up names of people we have never heard of, and posting from cities and countries we have never done business with. I feel sorry for this person who has nothing better to do with his life.
