Harbor Equity Group Peter Miles Scam, looks like the former name may have been "washington equity group" Baltimore, Maryland
I was contacted by a Nicolous Wright stating I was qualified for a 5,000.00 personal loan. He sent me over the documentation and said all I needed to do is sign it, fax over two pay stubs with addition to my drivers license. He then told me since I lived in California I could not put a collateral down on property so I would need to put 900.00 down. I wired 900.00 plus fees to a Elisabeth Canalis in Barcelona, Spain. I was told the money would be posted in my bank account the next day.
The next day the funds were not there and I recieved a phone call from Peter Miles his boss, saying that one in ten loans go through a reassessment from lender and mine had been randomly selected. He told me the borrower asked for another 900.00 and he would make a special exception and redo the contract for me. In addition he told me I would not have to put anymore money down after this and he would assure me I would get my money and that I had hit a minor roadbump.
I called him back the next day to ask him some more questions before I wired anymore money and he was extremely rude to me. He told me that they were processing over 200 loans that day and that he was offended I did not trust him.
Thank god for this website because I found a post from someone who lives in the same area as me that was told the same exact thing. This scam looks as if it may have ran under the name "Washington Equity Group" prior to this. I also pulled up the address on a map and its a flower delivery 800 center for Baltimore and they said they were the only business at this address. Let not allow this to happen to more people. Let get our money back and catch these bastards! I am going to call Baltimore PD in hopes they can at least link the Baltimore Fax Number to somebody, please let me know if this happens to you so we can work together.
