Havoline Xpress Lube #1075 Chevron These Crooks will Sabotage your vehicle! Ocala Florida
I went to havoline expresslube on SW Hwy 200 , Ocala FL while on a roadtrip in March 2014. Wanted just the basic oil change. The attendenant (who tried to talk like "Rocky, form the Movie"), kept triying to sell me all kinds of other services, and I very politely explained that I am a ASE certified auto tech myself (turned out he was'nt), and keep evrything else up very well, and only needed an oil change at this time, as I was traveling.
Well, 10 mins later, oil change completed, as I waas getting ready to leave, I told same attendant who was still trying to sell me other services, that I will keep them in mind if I need any future service/fluid changes. I also asked what brand oil filter they installed? The guy got very sarcastic... told me " I don't know, I am not a ASE certified Tech like you!" And walked away. I politely thanked them and paid the other attendant.
I drove down the rd I block, and decided to stop and make sure since the attendant seemed vindictive when I was leaving, that I better make sure he put oil back in! Everything seemed OK.... Untill>>>
2 1/2 months later , 6-3-14, I was changing the oil again on this vehicle, this time myself... found out the Havoline guy put my drain plug on super thight and stripped some threads... I had to use a 3 ft long, 1/2 drive breaker bar just to get it loose! Then I find he installed a #3387 oil filter, the complenty wrong filter! Much smaller than what my van takes. Also, he put this filter on WAY too tight, just like the drain plug. took me 2 hrs to get it off.. I had to use many different specialty tools, and filter wrenchs to finall get it loose!
I am an auto tech, and have always done my own oil changes on this vehicle. it was VERY apparent that Expresslube did this to Sabotage my vehicle because I would'nt buy any of their other services and they only made $19.95 from me.
I called 6-3-14, talked to manager "Nick" who acted like he could care less! I also asked for the area managers contact info and he refused to give that to me... told me it's "personal info" and he will not give it out.
I told him that I am thinking of a lawsuit against them.
I will never again go to another Havoline espresslube.. the LIFE of your vehicle is at risk with these saboteors.
