My Wife received a call from the company and the individual on the phone promised that by switching to HBC tele-communications that we would be paying 17c/Minute to India, to my wife questions regarding the cancellatin he mentioned that the plan can be cancelled at anytime without a penalty.
Then comes there recording part where they ask you to confirm Yes or No to the subscriptions, which doesn't talk about rates or cancellation fee.
Basically what has happened is a case of bait and switch, our bills indicate that we are paying 28c/Min. So i called up they calim that if I call certain cities the rate will be 28C. Which is 20% above my subscription rates with my previous provider.
So I asked the cancel the service, but was advised that they will charge me 55.00 for cancellation.
Even though my the phone and credit being charged are in my Name, they replay the message in which my wife states that she "Yes" to the question do you want to subscribe. The rates promised or the cancellation fees are not part of any of the recordings. I am not sure that the recording will hold good in the court of law, basically it is a blanket aceptance of anything they want to charge.
I will be cancelling their service, take their 55.00 charge and I also cancelled by credit card with the same company.
What they don't realise is that they might have made a quick 55.00, they have lost my business for life. When will companies realise not to bite the hands that feed you.
