HCCredit The Help Card I received a credit card when buying a bed at Select Comfort to help finance it.Springdale Arkansas
The salesman told me that it was 6 months no interest. It was actually deferred interest. After the 6 months was up they charged almost $400 to my account. They advised it was deferred interest, and if I didnt pay it throughout the 6 months it woudd be charged to my account. They advised they put the information on my statment, but it was not clear, i thought that was the interest when the 6 months was up each month, so I wouldnt be suprised when it kicked in. What a scam. If I would have been told about this, and it was pointed out properly I would have never bought the bed or agreed to the credit terms. This is illegal. They need to be shut down. I want that deferred interest REMOVED.
I went into Select Comfort to buy a new bed. I financed the bed through The Help Card because the salesman told me that it had not interest for the first 6 months. I paid my bill everymonth. My six months just went up and The Help Card / HCC Credit charged my accoung almost $400. When I called to find out why this was charged, they said it was the interest for the frist 6 months, since I didn't pay it. They then told me it was deferred 6 months interest. This is not what was told to me at Select Comfort. They refused to take any of it off and told me it was on my statements. This was not clearly stated to me at the time of purchase. The statements I just thought were telling me what the interest would be, so that when it did kick, I would have no suprises. This place is a joke. Why would somebody willingly defer interest for six months. I would have just left it and paid it, instead of being told something else only to find out that most of what I paid already is just going to turn around and come right back on my card. This is illegal, this should be a violation of truth in leding laws because it was not clear that this amount would be charged.
