I recently ordered a door for a 2007 Suburban that they had in stock.  I specified at least 4 times, that I wanted a door with perfect exterior paint that didn't need any body or paint work.  The reason I was buying it was to replace a dented door.  I was buying a black door to match my black Suburban so there would be no damage or paint work on the Suburban when the door was replaced.

I was assured by their salesman each time I made the statement, that the door was perfect and would need no paint or bodywork.  I asked for a picture, but he didn't have one to send. He told me it was taken from a theft recovered Suburban and had no exterior damage.

When the door arrived, it had a very small dent above the door handle, and two very deep key scratches along the entire length of the door.  The scratches had been painted over WITH A BRUSH in an attempt to cover them.  It was obviously damaged.  I took several pictures of the damage which was visible even from a distance.  The door would require more time and effort to fix then the dented one I was replacing.

They told me to ship it back and when they got it, they would look at the damage and decide then if they would refund any portion of the shipping.  I returned the door and was refunded the cost of the door, $850, but not the $150 cost to ship it.  It cost me $160 to ship it back to them.  I'm now out over $300 in shipping for a door which I was promised was ready to mount and in excellent condition.  I called them back today to ask if they were still considering refunding more money to me, but was told they would not.  I informed them I would be reporting them online and to anyone I knew looking for parts.  They are not a trustworthy business by my experience.

Just a few hours after filing this report, the owner of Higgins Auto Parts called me.  I had written a message expressing my dissatisfaction on their website, and he was responding to that message.  He told me that they would credit the $150 shipping back to my bank account tomorrow.  I'm still out $164 it cost me to send the door back to them, but I will count it as a lesson learned.
