I have been in real eatate for about 3 years. I was solicited by this company to reserve my exclusive zip code for theie web site for obtains leads for people wanting to buy property in Surfside Beach SC. Sounded great.
It took several months got get the first lead. Absolutely none of the leads converted into a client or sale. Some times the return call information was bogus, sometimes it was good, but when I contacted them, they has already started working with another realtor, which was odd.
I was in a training session one morning when I and the agent next to me recieved a text at the same time. Both were for the exact same lead, even though the other agent did not work in my office. At break, we both called, but the contact person had aready spoke with another realtor. In other words, my exclusive lead went to at least 3 realtors, and the first one to the phone made the conversion. Not my understanding of exclusive.
This service cost me over $2,000 in 2014/15. When I cancelled, I recieved a "Final Invoice" for another 30 days, because my cancellation did not occur before "30 days prior to the renewal date". The renewal date was the middel of the month, not the first of the month, so they wanted me to pay for basically 45 days of service after I cancelled.
There are a number of sites like this that solicit Realtors- many claim that when you "buy" a zip code it is yours. That is simply not the case. They may also claim to "scrub the leads" or vet them - not true either, these sites are set up as a money maker for the web site, and prey on , particularly new, Realtors.
If you are, or know a REALTOR, let them know this is a rip-off.
