HOUSEHOLD FINANCE - ORCHARD BANK ripoff say they gave us a credit card we never received now they say we owe over $900! LAS VEGAS Nevada
Received a phone call today from a collection agency acting on behalf of Capital One who stated that they had purchased a delinquent account in my name. They stated that Household/Orchard Bank had sold them this account that had $980.00 past due and that I owed it to them.
I never had the account in question with them, never received a card from them, never used this supposed account, never received even a monthly statement from them pertaining to my supposed account. When I told the representative this, he kept stating that this account was purchased by Capital One and that they would not help me in obtaining any statements or further information pertaining to this account.
I then obtained a toll-free number for Household/Orchard Bank, when I called them, they refused to cooperated and give me any information regarding this account, due to it being sold to Capital One. I also tried to speak with someone in their fraud department, and was not allowed to. They will not provide me with any information concerning this account, nor will Capital One. Yet they expect me to pay for this even though it is not mine, without any verification whatsoever. This is clearly a violation of the federal laws.
