Integretel Billed for 900 call never done or done by a computer infected by a virus ripoff Clearwater Florida
Received an outrageous $ 40.00 bill plus taxes for a call to a 900 number (900-444-0353)that was never made by any person in the household. Upon complaining to Integrel 800-736-7500 number, a customer service representative said that the call was made by a computer modem for the downloading of a short program. That call was never willingfully made altough it is not impossible that the computer might have dialed the number during a moment of absence. Indeed about the day the call was allegedly made, the computer had been infected by a virus!
Upon complaint and some strong words, the customer service representative agreed to reverse the charge within 1 or 2 billing cycles. If that does not occur, I will file a complaint with the better business bureau, which, apparently will join a long series of similar ones.
In my non-expert opinion, I believe that a class action lawsuit against this company and/or its affiliates may be in order as they allegedly tried to charge unrequested services to unaware phone users, probably surrespiciously invaded one's computer with an underground dialing program in alleged violation of several e-commerce laws, did the above through interstate communication and cause victims aggravation, loss of productive time, negatively affected family relationships (as people may blame other, unaware household members as a consequence of this.)
I urge other people who experienced the above to join, look for a specialized law pratictioned who can file a complaint with the appropriate regulatory body and ask for relief in behalf of all the people who have been made to pay charges for unrequested services or merely have been annoyed by Integrel tactics.
