This is not a statement about Interstate National Dealer Services, aka Warranty Direct not paying a claim that they should have. It is clear that the actual name of the device needed for the repair in not in the contract.

This is soley about Deceptive advertising, possibly class action in nature. They sell you with literature and via their website that their MajorCare service covers " Power Windows and Door Locks, the electrical components as well as the mechanisms controlling the automatic power windows and door lock are covered by MajorCare". Exact words off their website. Now, in their contract the actual device they cover is called a "power door lock actuator'. The problem is that depending on the car, in this case a minivan, there can be another device name that can cause the power door lock to fail though nothing else failing. In my case (and I am sure MANY others) that is called an assembly latch, that is not worded in the contract. So, their advertising is deceptive as they do not cover the mechanisms controlling the power door locks, only SOME of the mechanisms controlling the power door locks.

The deceptive advertising that I claim, is that they state power door locks are covered, they place a picture of a minvan next to the statement, implying that they will cover power door lock failure on minvans as well. But they do not, they only cover power door locks when the only device that is broker is the actuator. Since some cars, like a sliding door minvan, has an addition piece called the assembly latch, you are expected to know this. Most consumers would not know this as I didn't before, and are taking the advertising and sales claims of covering power doors locks at face value.

Note, that there is nothing else wrong with the car. The door opens from the inside and out, both manually and automatically with power feature. All that is wrong is the power door lock. Though, they will not cover it.

I was told verbally and via advertising that the warranty covered failure of power door locks. NEVER was I told, 'Only unders certain circumstance and not all mechanisms of a power door lock.'

I can only imagine what other deceptive practices are waiting me on the next claim?

I have had several problems with this company, I have a $100 deductable and it is a Motor Home that is covered. Any time I have had to have work done it has cost me $200 to $300 extra plus my deductable as they will not pay shop labor rates or for all of the part cost. When they owe you money I end having to call them to find out where it is and all they tell you is there was a misunderstanding and they will send the check out in 7 to 10 days. I think this is their way od delaying payment.
