Jagex runs a game called Runescape, and Old School Runescape. Where players may choose to pay a fee to play. Most people who play the game advent sign up for the membership for added benefits and more content. 

 

Lately, the servers have suffered from massive Direct Denial of Services Attacks (DDOS). These attacks have made the game discount your in-game character. Making the game hard to play or in many cases, a player is 100% unable to even log into the game. Even in some cases killing the player causing them to loose hours even days of gameplay.

For most players, we pay to play and the recent attacks have made the game unplayable causing people who pay to play unable to get full uninterrupted access to the game. Players who pay to play the game, pay a monthly membership fee of $5 - $10 depending on the age of the account. 

Many players have brought the extended membership of 3, 6, 12 months in advance. With the understanding that the servers would be stable the whole time and the game playable without the constant disconnection of the game servers.

The continued DDOS attacks have made the game so unplayable and unenjoyable that players believe that Jagex is taking advantage of them by not providing the full services that are being paid for. Players are unable and play the game safly without the fear of in-game creator being killed. Jagex is well aware of this and made the following statement on the February 2nd, 2017. "we would advise players to not engage in dangerous in game activity which could lead to a large loss of game wealth/items until we are satisfied that stability is consistently back to our usual high levels." Jagex is advising players to avoid major parts of the game such as monster killing which is connected to many in-game skills and most in-game items are tied to monster killing. 

Jagex TOS 17. says "We will use reasonable endeavors to maintain operation of Jagex Products and rectify faults as quickly as possible. Jagex reserves the right to modify, including by way of regular updates, the Jagex Products and we may have to suspend the operation of a Jagex Product without notice for repair, maintenance, improvement, security or any other reason. If so, we will do our best to ensure that the suspension is as short as possible. We cannot accept responsibility for such suspensions, interruptions or errors caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control." 

The Server issues have been an ongoing problem since the start of "old School Runescape" in 2013. in the TOS Jagex states that "If so, we will do our best to ensure that the suspension is as short as possible." yet the issue has been an ongoing issue that has never been completely resolved even tho in the TOS Jagex states "we will do our best to ensure that the suspension is as short as possible" Players believe that Jagex has not done their best to stop the DDOS attacks as quickly as they can. 

By not resolving the issue over the 4 years that "Old School Runescape" has been a product offered by Jagex. Us players believe that Jagex has not held up to their end of the TOS. Jagex should offer all "Old School Runescape" Paying members extra days to their membership to compensate them for the downtime or provide discounted membership until the time the issue is fixed.
