Anthony Lopez of Jeneer Builders, LLC, hired me to do work at a property and then changed the scope after our arrival at the property. He told me by phone after our arrival at the property that we are “just a debris removal company” and that he had many other companies just like us who he could call to do the work for his price. This was in spite of the fact that we had already agreed on the scope and price. Anthony Lopez would not pay us for the increased work so we had to leave the property. I had to pay my crew and lost a day’s work and neither he nor Carey Smith, the general manager, will even communicate with me, much less cover my expenses and loss.
Anthony told me that day that since I am a contractor, I should be able to just go to another job location to work. I am a small operator and cannot just go somewhere else and work like that. I don’t know that I have ever dealt with a more arrogant person than Anthony Lopez. And Carey Smith should be willing to speak with me but will not. Based on how they have treated me, I do not feel that Anthony Lopez and Carey Smith of Jeneer Builders, LLC, understand what honest dealings are. They have pulled this bait-and-switch on me and cost me money. And the fact that they, especially Carey Smith, who is the General Manager, will not speak to me about it should show ample evidence that they are dishonest. Beware!

The response from Carey Smith is the first response he has given. In fact I did call Carey to discuss what happened and he would never speak with me, contrary to what he claims (lie #1). When I bid the job, it was based on another of their employee’s request based on his described scope. When we arrived to begin the work, we were told that additional work was required for the quoted price. So Carey Smith’s description of what happened in his response is lie #2.
His comment about me making threats is typical of the type of person he evidently is. I do not “misbehave” when dealing with people/companies that are stealing from me. In fact, I record calls with those whom I am discussing possible dealings with, which I did in all conversations beginning with the one with the man who requested the bid originally and my conversations with Anthony Lopez, both in person and on the phone.
I will also say that the calls I made to Jeneer Builders were answered by a very nice lady who was polite and promised me that she would see to it that Carey Smith received my messages. Carey Smith never returned any of the calls. And now that he has responded in this way, he has fully confirmed who he is and the company he works for fits the same category, in my qualified opinion.
If Carey was an honest gentleman who cares about integrity, he would call me.
As a final comment, now that Carey Smith has chosen to say something, ripoff Anthony Lopez is fading away and into a dark corner of my mind as just another dishonest Peter Principal lackey. If you choose to deal with Jeneer Builders in any capacity, you have been warned.

We brought Michael onto the jobsite to provide a bid for his work, which we accepted. On the day his job started, he called my superintenent and stated he wanted more money for the project regardless that the scope of work had not been changed. He then said that we owed him $1000 just for him showing up. He called me after Anthony told him that he had quoted us and that was what the job paid. I told him the same thing.
After several phone calls over several days, he became increasingly hostile and when he began making threats we stopped taking his calls. Michael Hudgins is not an honest businessman, and any who provide him work should be cautious and make sure to have other alternatives standing by.
