I am very grateful to all the people who have shared their experiences of being ripped off by [email protected]. Thanks to your comments I have avoided becoming a victim myself.
I am outraged. I just cannot accept the fact some nasty individuals are making lots of money by taking advantage of the misfortune and vulnerability of other human beings. It makes me so sick!
Fortunately, there exist sites like this and all it takes is a bit of research before giving unscrupulous individuals your credit card info. Out of curiosity and being touched by her expression of sympathy towards me I was about to pay [email protected] US$ 60 for a full reading, but luckily I thought it was a good idea to google her name before grabbing my credit card... to my surprise I found this site full of victims' complaints!
It is just so disgusting how criminals can operate freely on the internet. Someone has to do something about this, but given the lack of a kind of worldwide online governement that controls the flow of information, we, users, have to be very careful and wary of other online users for we never know who really is at the other end. It is indeed one of the disadvantages of our new economy. Our priviledged access to endless amounts of information has its drawbacks and we have to be smart enough to protect ourselves from online criminals that are not accountable to anyone.
Only through the diffusion of our experiences and mistakes can we help each other and make it less easy for criminals to hurt hopeful and innocent people who happen to believe in their promises. My sympathy goes to those who have been affected. Take it as a lesson and get on with your life. Sooner or later the big unscrupulous liars will pay for what they are doing.
