In December of 2014, my husband found a 2005 Bentley GT on Autotrader. He communicated backwards and forwards with JG Exotic in Ft. Lauderdale Fl. Funds were wired to JG Exotic to hold the vehicle. A family member residing in Miami Fl. went to JG Exotic to look at the vehicle for my husband. Photos were taken of the vehicle inside and outside at that time. On 12/19/14 my husband and I drove to Ft Lauderdale to purchase the vehicle. A deposit of $7,000 was put down on the vehicle. The deposit was given to JG Exotic in Ft Lauderdale. This too is where we picked the car up from. We then left JG Exotic with the vehicle and drove to Mitsubishi of Kendal in Miami. This is where the financing took place. We couldn’t understand why we gave the money and picked the vehicle up from one location and then did the financing at another location. According to the Retail Installment Sale Contract (which we notice at a later date), It appears as if we put $20,000 down on the vehicle and that we were being financed by Santander Consumer USA. On Saturday December 20, 2014, we drove back home to Brunswick Ga. were we reside. Brunswick Ga. is about 5 1/2 hours from Ft Lauderdale Fl. The vehicle did well on the road with no problems until about 2 miles from our residence. At that time, the vehicle ran hot and begin smoking. My husband made it home, parked the vehicle and immediately contacted Mario at Mitsubishi Kendal. Mario is the person that did the finance paperwork. My husband tried calling Joseph, owner of JG Exotic first but he did not initially answer the telephone. My husband stressed his concern about the vehicle and the fact that he had just put $7000 on a vehicle that couldn’t make it from Ft Lauderdale to Brunswick Ga. Mario agreed that he would hold off on the finance paperwork until my husband speak with Joseph, the owner. Joseph finally called on my husband back on this same day about 1 ½ later. My husband explained to Joseph that the car ran hot and was smoking. Joseph advised my husband to take the vehicle to a mechanic and whatever is wrong they will fix. First thing Monday morning, 12/22/14 my husband took the vehicle to a foreign car auto repair, Volkswagen Audi Garage. The owner Josh checked the vehicle and advised my husband that the vehicle had no oil along with a list of other problems. Josh advised my husband to return the vehicle immediately. On Tuesday 12/23/14, my husband picked the vehicle up from Volkswagen Audi Garage. My husband contacted Joseph to inform him of was observed when the vehicle was checked by Volkswagen Audi Garage. Joseph informed my husband to bring the vehicle back and he would give him back his money all except $50.00 per day for the car not being on the lot (excluding holidays when dealership is closed) and 25 cents per miles put on vehicle. Joseph assured us that his secretary would have a check available for refund. My husband agreed to have those fees deducted from the $7,000. Wednesday and Thursday JG Exotic was close because it was Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On Friday, December 26, 2014 (day after Christmas), my husband had the vehicle towed back to Ft. Lauderdale because he knew the vehicle was not operable to drive. When we arrived to JG the owner was not present. Instead he had his salesman and secretary present but no check. The salesman made all kinds of excuses and we tried calling Joseph while at the car lot but he would not answer his phone. Finally Joseph called his office back, allegedly, and advised them to inform us that he wanted to get the vehicle checked first to ensure we didn’t do anything to cause damage to the vehicle. He says if we caused any damage, he would deduct the damage we caused from the $7000. What damages could we have caused from driving 5 ½ hours home. We later received a letter in the mail from JG attorney stating that we caused $7000-12,000 dollars worth of damage and would not be getting a penny back. What a coincidence the damage caused was the down payment amount. We were never sent a breakdown of the damages. JG used our money to fix the repairs that were already there when we purchased the vehicle. The later put the car back on autotrader and sold the vehicle. We are still without our money and today is November 4, 2015. I read another review on this same website on yesterday and it appear as if another customer was scammed out of 12,000 in February 2015. I am available to explain any documents that I have sent to you. If there are any questions fell free to contact me. Thank you for your assistance.
