In Mid March, I clicked on an ad for a skin care product called Juvarelle, an anti-aging moisturizer and eye lift cream. They offerred a FREE trial sample, you only paid for shipping and handling. The product arrived 10-12 days later, but in the meantime I had done some research on the internet and realized (too late) that there were a lot of complaints about this company and that this was a scam. The internet sites I read reported that this company would charge the credit card, not just the shipping and handling but an additional $94.97 and $99.74 respectively. And that is exactly what happened to me.
Within a day of receiving the product my credit card was charged a $94.97 on 3/31/17 and $ $99.74 on 4/1/17. I called the company to ask what was going on. (844-800-6676) I was told that I had signed up for a "Subscription" based skin care program. I can assure you I did no such thing. I only agreed to a free "trial" sample. If there was language to this effect, it was well buried in the website. They asked if I wished to cancel, I said "Yes", this was on 4/10/17. I said I would return the unopened, unused product back to them. They gave me two RMA codes and the address to return the product. The address was in the United Kingdom. You can see how hard they are making this...I spent the money to ship it back to the UK, obtaining a tracking number from the Post Office. I was told by customer service that I could expect a refund after they received the product.
I made my second phone call on June 2, 2017 after a month and half of not hearing anything. I spoke with John who indicated that he saw that I had indeed canceled the subscription on 4/10/17 and asked for the Postal tracking number. He then told me that he was "kicking this up to a higher level" and I should receive an email from them in 24 hours. I did not. I called again on June 8th, 2017 and spoke with Alex, I was told exactly the same thing. No email ever came.
I called again on June 12th and got Ashley (badge # 810594, I now become aware that I should have "known" to ask for a badge number because this lady could not identity the other agents I had spoken with). She proceeds to tell me the exact same thing that John and Alex had said about kicking it up to a higher level and I should await an email. When I confronted her with this information, she quickly said that I was not entitled to a refund because they only had a 30 day money back guarantee. I told her to check her records as I had not only sent the product back on April 12th with RMA codes her company gave me, but that I had also called to cancel on 4/10/17. She proceeds to tell me that there is no indication that I cancelled and so since it was now June, I was past my 30 day money back guarentee. WOW !!
This is the most flagrant scamming and lying that I have ever been exposed to. I do not have the products, never used them, and have paid a total of $228.11 for the privilege of getting screwed! Is there nothing that can be done to stop a company like this?
