My husband worked at the South Cushman KFC for about six months as a manager. During that time he witnessed food routinely served to customers that had not been adaquately refrigerated. Raw chicken that had been left out on the counter overnight was cooked and served. The refrigerators were often found to have been unplugged for entire days at a time, and the food was served anyway. At one time it was discovered that a new employee had been accidently using oven cleaner instead of non-stick spray on the biscuit pans. The biscuits were served anyway.
My husband came home from the hospital one day with second degree burns over half of his face that he got at work. He never recieved any workman's comp for the time he missed and it has been several months since it happened.
He was also not allowed breaks for an entire 8 hour or longer shift, and when he put in his two week's notice, they immediately removed him from the schedule for the rest of the week and the week after.
