Kmart Sears/Kmart Allows private marketers to fool customers Vails Gate, New York
For the past 3 years this Kmart/Sears store has been allowing a marketing company called Blade Marketing to sell costume jewelry to their customers. A Blade Marketing employee will walk through the store giving Kmart customers a free ticket to a drawing, and the time of the drawing, for a chance to win a nice piece of jewelry worth approximately $100.00. (No one wins any jewelry in these shows)
The marketer stands at a podium and puts on her show, showing and telling the people about the beautiful jewelry she is displaying that is worth more than $400.00
She will then pick 3 lucky people from those free tickets (HA) to have a chance to buy the products for only $60.00.
This sale is final.
In the small black velvet bag there is costume jewelry that you might give as party favors at a little girls
birthday party. Nothing at all looking anything like what she displayed. This stuff had aluminum twisty-ties for clasps. Most people don't even look in the bag.
I called the local newspaper to come have a look at one of her shows throuhout the day. I was told that as long as the customers think what they are buying is worth hundreds of dollars. Then that is what the value of what they bought is. Even the newspaper said it was not a scam. I disagree.
I then went to management who said the same thing and that I should direct my complaints to their corporate office because the corporate office allows Blade Marketing to operate in whatever stores they decide.
